Acceptance

By accessing or using TackleAI ("the Service") at tackleai.app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Service Description

TackleAI is a mobile-first web app providing AI-powered fishing tools: lure identification from photos, fishing recommendations based on water conditions, an AI Coach for fishing questions, and a personal catch log with performance analytics.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use TackleAI. By using the service, you confirm you meet this requirement.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to bypass rate limits or abuse the AI endpoints
• Impersonate other users or accounts
• Use TackleAI for any illegal activity, including fishing in violation of local laws
• Scrape, mirror, or redistribute TackleAI content without permission
• Attempt to reverse engineer the service
• Submit malicious content, spam, or content that violates the rights of others

Account Responsibilities

You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at tackleaisupport@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Pro Subscription Terms

• Pro subscriptions are $9 USD per month or $79 USD per year
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled
• Cancel anytime through your Lemon Squeezy customer portal
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their refund policy — see our Refund Policy below for details

Amazon Affiliate Links

TackleAI participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Some "Upgrade Pick" recommendations include affiliate links. If you purchase through these links, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate participation does not influence AI recommendation logic.

Intellectual Property

• Your fishing data (lures, catches, sessions, notes) belongs to you
• The TackleAI app, its design, its AI prompts, and its codebase are owned by TackleAI
• AI-generated outputs (recommendations, identifications, coach responses) are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use

Disclaimers

• TackleAI's recommendations are guidance, not guarantees of fishing success
• AI can be wrong — verify safety-critical information independently
• We're not responsible for unsuccessful fishing trips, lost lures, or fish that got away
• The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind
• We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TackleAI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or use, arising from your use of the service. Total liability is limited to the amount you paid TackleAI in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account anytime through the in-app option or by emailing tackleaisupport@gmail.com.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in Maryland courts.

Overview

TackleAI is built with a minimal data footprint. Free users who don't create an account have all their data stored locally in their browser; we never see it. This policy explains what we collect when you do interact with our backend.

Information We Collect

• Account info: email address (via Google OAuth or magic link)
• User-provided data: lure inventory, catches, fishing sessions, water conditions, AI Coach chat messages
• Automatic data: Google Analytics (anonymized page views, device type, approximate location via IP)
• Photos: lure images uploaded for AI identification (sent to Anthropic for processing, not stored long-term unless you add the lure to your inventory)
• Payment info: handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy — TackleAI does not store credit card numbers

How We Use Information

• To provide the TackleAI service (lure identification, fishing recommendations, AI Coach, water condition analysis)
• Anonymous aggregate analytics to improve the app
• Process payments via Lemon Squeezy for Pro subscriptions
• Email communication regarding your account or service updates

Third Parties We Share Data With

• Supabase: database storage
• Anthropic: AI processing for Claude models
• OpenAI: water condition analysis with GPT models
• Google Analytics: anonymized usage analytics
• Lemon Squeezy: payment processing — they handle credit card data, we don't store it
• Vercel: hosting infrastructure
• Amazon Associates: affiliate links in Upgrade Pick recommendations

We do not sell your data to advertisers or third parties.

Your Rights

• Right to access your data: email tackleaisupport@gmail.com to request a copy
• Right to delete your data: use the in-app "Delete my account" option, or email tackleaisupport@gmail.com
• Right to export your data: email tackleaisupport@gmail.com
• Right to correct inaccurate data: email or use the in-app editing features

Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to:

• Remember your sign-in session
• Sync your data across sessions
• Rate limit anonymous use of AI features
• Run anonymized Google Analytics

We don't use third-party advertising cookies. We don't track you across other sites.

Data Retention

• Account data: retained while your account is active
• Deleted accounts: permanently deleted within 30 days
• AI Coach chat history: stored on your device (localStorage), cleared on sign-out
• Photos uploaded for lure ID: sent to Anthropic for analysis, not stored on TackleAI servers unless you add the lure to your inventory

Free Tier / No Account

If you use TackleAI without signing in, all your data lives exclusively in your browser's localStorage. We have no access to it. Clearing your browser storage deletes it permanently.

Children's Privacy

TackleAI is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, contact tackleaisupport@gmail.com and we'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We'll notify users via the app if material changes occur. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

How Refunds Are Handled

TackleAI Pro subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. All refund requests are handled directly by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their refund policy. TackleAI does not process refunds directly.

How to Request a Refund

Contact Lemon Squeezy directly through any of these channels:

• Reply to your original Lemon Squeezy receipt email
• Visit your Lemon Squeezy customer portal (link in your subscription confirmation email)
• Email Lemon Squeezy support at help@lemonsqueezy.com

You can also email tackleaisupport@gmail.com and we'll help direct your request — but the final decision on refunds rests with Lemon Squeezy.

How to Cancel Your Subscription

To stop future charges:

• Open your Lemon Squeezy customer portal (link sent in your subscription confirmation email)
• Cancel your subscription
• Your Pro access remains active until the end of the current billing period

Cancellation prevents future charges but does not automatically refund the current billing period.

Disputes

If you have a dispute about a charge, please contact Lemon Squeezy support first before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Their support team can usually resolve issues faster than payment networks.
